The 1990s were a great time for car lovers the world over! On both sides of the Atlantic as well as in Asia, car manufacturers not only produced many new generations of existing favorites, but brought out new and exciting models to compliment them.
In America, the heavyweights such as Ford, Chevrolet and Chrysler continued to lead the way in motoring in North America, with their models the ones most sought after by consumers wanting American cars. The "Big 3" remained that way for the decade.
Over the Atlantic, in Europe cars sales climbed throughout the decade.
Luxury brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi continued to sell both older models as well as new marques that they introduced, while less pricey brands, like Opel, Golf and Renault clawed their way into the sales battle by not only offering cheaper cars but cars loaded with extras. Affordable, practical and value for money were what many customers, especially young professionals, were looking for. And it helped that these brands marketed eye-catching models in terms of style.
Over in Asia, brands that had only been available in the Asian market were suddenly marketed in America and Europe. These included Kia and Hyundai among others.
But would you be able to identify cars from the 1990s through just a single image? It's not as simple as it seems, and 87% of people who take this quiz don't get all the answers!
Can you? Why not give it a go!
