Only 1 in 25 self-described 'Trekkies' can name these Star Trek characters from just one image! Can you?
by Andrew Katz

How many of you self-professed Star Trek fans even know what year the franchise began? If you said 1966, then you may very well ace this character identification quiz.

Well, during those 50-plus years, the science fiction franchise has become several television shows, movies, books, comics, games and even magazines. Entire conventions are even constructed around the show and its storylines! Star Trek, now a multibillion-dollar industry, has inspired technology (NASA even named a prototype space shuttle Enterprise, after them) and has a huge following around the world who are called Trekkies.

Its popular quotes such as "Beam me up, Scotty," "Live long and prosper," "To go boldly where no man has gone before (this may have been inspired by a space program booklet found in the White House in 1958)," and "I'm givin' her all she's got, Captain" has been uttered millions of times over. Another feature film, this time directed by Hollywood's very own legendary director, Quentin Tarantino, is currently in the works.

It's no wonder why quizzes such as this one have been made to test the knowledge of Trekkies like you. And throughout all the books, comics, TV shows and movies, characters are constantly being added to the franchise. Are you enough of a fan to name every single one of them?
