About This Quiz

From Athena to Venus, both the ancient Greeks and Romans wrote of powerful goddesses who ruled over mythical lands, protected their fellow gods, and sometimes banished them to twisted fates. Early accounts of the tales notably stem from ancient Greece's Homer, who recounted some of these tales in "The Odyssey" and "The Iliad." About 1,000 years later, Rome's Virgil crafted the epic of "Aeneid," and in 8 A.D., the Roman poet Ovid wrote "Metamorphoses."

Birthed from sea foam, Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of beauty, love, and procreation, uses her stunning charm to get what she wants. Meanwhile, Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and warfare, burst from Jupiter, uses her robust armor and cunning intelligence to fulfill dangerous conquests. While the Romans borrowed many conceptions of the gods from the Greeks, the way they wrote of these mythical figures varied. Greek goddesses tended to be revered for their creativity and artistry, while their Roman counterparts were often praised for their bravery and warrior-like strength.

Whether sweet and noble or fiery and vindictive, these goddesses live on inside modern-day, mortal women. So, which type of goddess are you: Artemis or Diana? Aphrodite or Venus? Athena or Minerva? The following quiz explains just how to tell if your unique personality harnesses the powers of ancient Roman or Greek goddesses.
