When you're a kid, before you get to science class and learn about how weather works, thunder and lightning are two of the most amazing things you'll ever experience in life. It's like the sky itself got mad at you and wanted to throw a tantrum of epic proportions. There are loud noises and flashing lights, and it's about the most intense thing you'll ever see. And sure, later in life you can learn about the science behind it and how hot and cold fronts interact and negatively charged particles meeting positively charged particles, but does it make any of it less awesome? When you stop to really take it in, a thunderstorm is still one of the most awe-inspiring natural phenomena in the world.
The cool thing about a thunderstorm is that duality between thunder and lightning. They're two halves of the same coin. One's the big, destructive flash; the other's the booming, terrifying sound that comes with it. They're different yet the same, and that's kind of cool. It's just like people! Some of us are all flash; some of us bring that boom. Think we can guess which side of the coin you spend most of your time on? Are you thunder or lightning? Take the quiz and see!
