About This Quiz

An MRE, otherwise known as a meal ready to eat, is a self-contained, individual field ration that is used by the U.S. Department of Defense for its service members for use in combat or other times when there is no food available. In other words, it's what soldiers eat to survive when there are no other options. Back in World War II, soldiers used c-rations, which later became MCI (Meal, Combat, Individual) rations that were used in Korea and Vietnam. In 1980, the Army started using the MRE. For the most part, an MRE contains an entree, a side dish, some sort of cracker or bread, a dessert and a beverage. It also comes with accessories, like utensils to eat with. It even comes with a flameless heater to make the entree hot.

We think how well a soldier likes their MREs has a lot to do with how successful they're going to end up being in the military. After all, if you can't handle an MRE while you're out in combat, how are you going to handle the actual combat itself? We think if you tell us which MREs sound good compared to which ones sound awful, we can tell you what rank you would have in the military. And no, Chipotle isn't an option.
