From the delicious taste to high calories, fast food is often seen as a guilty pleasure, but who can stop themselves from enjoying their favorite burger or chicken nuggets? From fan favorite, McDonald's, to the "fresher" alternative of Subway, can you guess the fast food restaurant from a few menu items?

It seems that patrons of the 1800s preferred to eat "slow food" because "fast food" was a concept that was introduced in the 1920s. The first chain was White Castle which opened up in 1921. It would be soon be followed by A&W in 1923. Since then, some of the world's most famous fast food chains have been popping up. McDonald's came about in 1940, Burger King in 1953, and Taco Bell in 1962. Subway, the largest fast-food chain around the world, was founded in 1965 in Bridgeport, CT.

Subway is the largest restaurant chain on earth. It has over 44,000 stores and about half of them are in the US.

Nearly 2 million burgers are sold in Burger King stores globally every day. In Australia, the chain is known as Hungry Jack's.

Wendy's was founded in Ohio. It's the third-largest hamburger fast food chain following McDonald's and Burger King.

Sonic Cheeseburger, New York Dog, Tots.

Sonic has been in operation since the 1950s. They are known for using roller skating carhops to deliver food.

Shackburger, Hamburger, Chicken Dog.

Shake Shack was founded in New York City in 2004. It has expanded to include stores all over the world, with restaurants across the U.S., Asia and even in Russia.

The Pie Who Loved Me, Cake Batter Ice Cream.

This ice cream parlor chain was founded in 1988. Its signature ice cream is roughly 12-14 percent butterfat.

Roast Beef Gyro, Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich.

The first Arby's opened in Ohio in 1964. There are restaurants all over the world; the oldest international Arby's is in Japan.

BONAFIDE Chicken, Seafood Po'Boy.

Popeyes was founded in New Orleans, Louisana, in 1972 and is now one of the largest fast food chicken restaurants on earth. It has over 2,000 locations worldwide.

Orange Chicken, Fried Rice, Fortune Cookies.

Panda Express has over 1,900 restaurants located all over the world. It's the largest fast food chain selling American Chinese cuisine.

Bonbites, Classic Roll.

Cinnabon stores are generally found in malls and airports. There are locations in over two dozen countries.

Burrito Ultimo, Guacamole, Churros.

Baja Fresh was founded in California in 1990. It has less than 200 stores globally. Almost all are in the Unites States with locations in Dubai and Singapore.

Checkerburger, Bacon Cheese Champ, Monsterella Stix

Checkers has stores in nearly 30 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. It was founded in Alabama in 1986.

The first In-N-Out Burger opened in California in 1948. The chain is famous for their not-so-secret secret menu.

Tall Iced Coffee, Frappuccino.

The first ever Starbucks opened in Seattle, Washington, in 1971. Following the United States, China has the most Starbucks stores of any country.

Pretzel Dogs, Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels.

Auntie Anne's began as a stand at a Pennsylvania Farmer's Market in 1988. It has more than 1,500 global locations and 400 around the world.

Blueberry muffins, Munchkins, Everything Bagels, Coffee.

Founded in 1950, Dunkin' Donuts has become one of the largest coffee and baked goods chains on the planet. You can visit one of its thousands of stores in more than 30 countries.

Creamed Spinach, Macaroni and Cheese, Rotisserie Chicken

Boston Market was founded in 1984 and expanded rapidly in the '90s. Most of its roughly 500 stores can be found in the northeastern United States.

Powdered Cake Doughnut, New York Cheesecake Doughnut.

This chain was founded in North Carolina in the 1930s. Today there are over 1,000 stores.

Chicken Sandwich, Chick-n-Strips, Waffle Fries.

This restaurant chain was founded in 1946. The company culture is influenced by the Southern Baptist beliefs of founder S. Truett Cathy. It is closed on Sundays and came under fire in 2011 for donating millions to groups opposed to same-sex marriage.

The Original Slider, Onion Chips.

White Castle in known for its unique square burgers. Its stores are mostly in Midwestern and Mid-Atlantic States.

Steakburger, Fries, Strawberry Milkshake.

This chain was founded in 1934. Today most of the restaurants are located in the Southern and Midwestern U.S., but it can be found in Europe and the Middle East.

Honey Butter Biscuits, Jalapeno Cheese Bombers, Spicy Chicken.

Founded in 1952 in Texas, this chain has become one of the largest fried chicken franchises on earth. There are locations in 25 countries, in some of which the chain is called Texas Chicken.

Blimpie Best Sub, Sicilian Panini.

Blimpie was founded in 1964 by a group of friends. While it boomed in the '90s, Blimpie has struggled to stay afloat in recent years.

Little Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheese Dog, Famous Fries.

The first Five Guys ever opened in Virginia in 1986. While it has been one of the fastest-growing fast food chains, it has also been criticized for being some of the most unhealthy fast food available. A large order of fries alone has over 1,000 calories.

Nashville Hot Chicken, Original Recipe Fried Chicken.

KFC is based in Louisville, Kentucky. Today it has more than 20,000 stores operating in 125 countries around the world.

Timbits, Caramel Latte Supreme.

This Canadian chain restaurant is known for its coffee and donuts. There are stores in nine countries.

The Baby Back Rib Thickburger, Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake.

This restaurant started as a Los Angeles food cart operated by a husband and wife team in 1941. Today, it has restaurants in over 40 U.S. states and 30 countries.

Signature Farmhouse Omelet, Earl Grey Supreme, Mango Wave Smoothie.

Au Bon Pain was founded in Boston in 1977. This casual bakery chain has restaurants in the U.S., Thailand and India.

Mesquite Chicken Sandwich, Black Angus Steak Sandwich.

The first Quizno's was opened in Denver, Colorado, in 1981. It's the second biggest submarine sandwich shop in North America, after Subway.

X-Treme Pepperoni Pizza, Spinach Stromboli, Cheese Pizza.

Sbarro was founded in Brooklyn, New York City in 1956. It specializes in New York Style Pizza and has 800 locations globally, including some in The Pentagon and naval bases.

Turkey Club Salad, Bently Salad.

Saladworks currently has about 100 U.S. locations in about 15 states. The first ever Saladworks opened in the Cherry Hill Mall in New Jersey in 1986.
