About This Quiz

How many of the world's islands are you familiar with? Take this quiz to find out.

When we think of islands, we tend to think of warm, sandy beaches, and fruity drinks with little umbrellas. And, although that's a nice mental picture of an island getaway, it's not always a reality for most of the world's islands.

In fact, islands are found throughout the world, from the tropical paradises to the arctic circle. We've compiled a list of some of the more well-known ones for this quiz, and we challenge you to name the ocean each one is located in.

Roughly 100,000 islands are floating around in the oceans of the Earth. These islands range from tiny to huge - in fact, Australia is both an island and a continent... that's impressive. And, the majority of the world's islands are located in the Pacific Ocean. Now, this may be because the Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean in the world, but it doesn't mean that if you don't know the correct answer for the questions in this quiz you can guess the Pacific Ocean because it has the most islands.

Take this quiz to find out how well you know your island geography.
