Scarlett is one of the original members of the G.I. Joe Team. She is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and an expert in counter-intelligence.

Storm Shadow is a ninja member of Cobra where he serves as bodyguard to Cobra Commander. He is often seen as a rival to Snake Eyes – a ninja on the G.I. Joe Team.

Baroness is a lieutenant to Cobra Commander. Her specialty is counter-intelligence and as such, she is often seen as a rival to the G.I. Joe Team’s, Scarlett.

Shipwreck is a weapons expert specializing in use of the M-14 and the M1911A1 Auto Pistol, among many others. He is well-known for his poor cooking skills and his ability to tell outrageous stories.

Real-life professional wrestler Robert Remus (whose ring name is Sgt. Slaughter) was the inspiration behind the creation of this G.I. Joe Team member. As a part of the Team, Sgt. Slaughter is the Drill Instructor.

There have been several versions of Destro within the G.I. Joe franchise. Throughout, he is represented as being born in Scotland, with his full name being Laird James McCullen Destro XXIV. His is most often described as a weapons developer and supplier for Cobra.

The G.I. Joe’s archenemy, Cobra Commander, serves as supreme leader of Cobra Organization. His true identity has been shrouded in mystery throughout the entire G.I. Joe franchise.

Snake Eyes is a mysterious member of the G.I Joe Team, with very little known about his past, including his real name. He is often romantically linked to Scarlett and has a pet wolf named Timber.

Clayton M. Abernathy (a.k.a. Hawk) is a native of Denver, Colorado and son to wealthy parents. He graduated at the top of his class at West Point and is the commander of the G.I. Joe Team.

The Crimson Twins are identical twin brothers and leaders of the Crimson Guard – elite Cobra troops. Their real names are Tomax and Xamot, which are really each other’s name spelled backwards.

Snow Job’s real name is Harlan W. Moore. He is a Vermont native who excels in the Winter Olympic biathlon sports of cross-country skiing and rifle shooting.

Zartan is a master of disguise and an assassin working for Cobra. He frequently works with the Dreadnooks biker gang, as well as with his younger twin siblings, Zandar and Zarana. His daughter, Zanya, is also a member of Cobra.

Charlie Iron-Knife (a.k.a. Spirit Iron-Knife), goes by the codename, Spirit. He is a Native American and the original tracker on the G.I. Joe Team.

This tenacious Airborne Ranger is the G.I. Joe Team’s Staff Sergeant. He grew up utterly poor but through discipline, has gone on to become an overachiever.

The G.I. Joe’s mountain trooper, Alpine, also happens to be an exceptional accountant. This remarkable climber’s real name is Albert “Al” Pine.

Communications Officer, Alvin R. Kibbey, goes by the codename, Breaker. This native of Gatlinburg, Tennessee is multilingual with the ability to speak in seven different languages.

Terrence Lydon was the quarterback of West Point’s football team before becoming a member of the G.I. Joe Team. He is the Team’s hand-to-hand combat specialist and one of its most respected members in battle. His biggest fault is perhaps that he tries very hard to be liked but comes off mostly as annoying.

Firefly is a mercenary who offers his services to Cobra as a saboteur. His skills are legendary when it comes to stealth and use of explosives.

Lift-Ticket (Victor W. Sikorsk) is pilot of the Tomahawk, a twin-engine, twin-rotor, all-weather, heavy assault and troop transit helicopter. He has earned a reputation of being the best helicopter pilot, not just on the G.I. Joe Team, but in the entire army!

Conrad S. Hauser (a.k.a. Duke) is the G.I. Joe Team’s First Sergeant. He is a trained multilinguist who is fluent English, German, French and several Southeast Asian languages.

William S. Hardy, codenamed Wild Bill, is pilot of the G.I. Joe Team’s assault helicopter, Dragonfly XH-1. Apart from being a top-notch helicopter pilot, Wild Bill is also a skilled tracker with a special love for country-western music.

Undercover specialist, Philip M. Provost goes by the codename Chuckles. He is a likeable, happy-go-lucky guy who is most often seen in a Hawaiian shirt with pink flower print.

Dusty, who was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, grew up in the desert and is now the G.I. Joe Team’s desert trooper. He speaks fluent Hebrew and Arabic, and is noted for his superior tracking skills.

Debuting in 1982 as the bazooka soldier in the original G.I. Joe Team, Zap is a New York City native whose real name is Rafael J. Melendez. He is an expert with a wide range of weaponry, particularly those meant for armor-piercing and anti-tank assault.

As his codename suggests, Outback has the ability to survive in even the most extreme environmental conditions. He normally wears a white T-shirt with the word “SURVIVAL” printed across the front.

Lady Jaye (real name: Alison R. Hart-Burnett) is the G.I. Joe Team’s covert operations specialist. She is a master impersonator and an expert with several weapons, including the M-16 and reflex crossbow.

Sebastian Bludd, or Major Bludd, is an Australian-born mercenary working for Cobra. He has a love of poetry but is well-known as being very bad at creating poems of his own.

Dashiell R. Faireborn (a.k.a. Flint) is the G.I. Joe Team’s chief warrant officer. He is a master tactician, a Rhodes Scholar and romantically involved with Lady Jaye.

Clutch (Lance J. Steinberg) is one of the G.I. Joe Team’s best mechanics and driver. Before joining the Team, Clutch took part in (illegal) street racing and was really quite good at it.

Lt. Falcon is a Green Beret (just like his father) and half-brother to the G.I. Joe Team's First Sergeant, Duke. He is a small arms specialist, known for his overwhelmingly friendly nature.

Often referred to as Sgt. Stalker, Lonzo R. Wilkinsoon is a native of Detroit, Michigan and the G.I. Joe Team’s ranger, medic and interpreter. He is often teamed with Snake Eyes and Scarlett.

Rock ‘n Roll was born in Malibu, California so it’s perhaps no surprise that he’s a big fan of surfing. He’s the original machine gunner on the G.I. Joe Team but in his younger days he also played guitar in a rock band and was a professional wrestler.

Serpentor is the result of genetic science experiments carried out by Dr. Mindbender and Destro. He is the combination of DNA from legendary warriors and leaders.

Grunt (Robert W. Graves) is part of the original G.I. Joe Team. He eventually left the Team to get married, start a family and pursue a degree in engineering.

Heavy Duty is cousin to Roadblock and an advanced weapons systems expert. He is an accomplished classical guitarist with a particular love for the music of Bach.

Tank Commander Ralph W. Pulaski (a.k.a. Steeler) debuted as part of the original G.I. Joe Team in 1982. He is skilled in operating many different types of assault fighting vehicles (AFVs) and was the original commander of the Team’s Multi-Ordnance Battle Assault Tank, the M.O.B.A.T.

G.I. Joe Team member, Admiral Everett P. Colby, is the commander of the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Flagg. He is the second-highest ranking member of the team, with only General Joseph Colton ranking higher.

Cobra Troopers are the basic troop-building foot soldiers in Cobra. They are often seen in large numbers, each one wearing a mask and a uniform.

Wild Weasel is well-known among Cobras and G.I. Joes alike for his amazing skills as a fighter plane pilot. He is the pilot of the Cobra Rattler - a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.

Grand Slam (real name: James J. Barney) was a part of the G.I. Joe Team original release in 1982. He is a laser artillery soldier and an electronics engineer.

Buzzer is a member of the Cobra-affiliated Dreadnoks biker gang. His real name is Richard Blinken-Smythe and he was once a student at the University of Cambridge in England.

African American Marvin F. Hinton is heavy machine gunner and cook Roadblock. In the 2013 film, "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," he is played by Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson.

Jinx is a ninja and a martial arts expert on the G.I. Joe Team. She was born in Los Angeles, California but her family has ties to a Japanese ninja clan. It was revealed that both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are also descendants of the same clan.

True to his name, Tunnel Rat can always be depended on to be the first to volunteer for tunnel missions. His heritage is mainly Trinidadian Chinese with some Irish, Spanish and Indian, as well.

When he debuted in 1984, Scrap Iron was an anti-armor specialist for Cobra. He has since evolved into an inventor and programmer of Cobra’s B.A.T.s (Battle Android Troopers).

Flash, whose real name is Anthony S. Gambello, is methodical and approaches most problem situations with extreme logic. His has a master’s degree in electronic engineering and is the G.I. Joe Team’s laser rifle trooper.

Zarana is the younger sister of Zartan and twin sister to Zandar. She is a professional assassin and master of disguise.

Rip Cord is the HALO (High Altitude Low Opening) Jumper on the G.I. Joe Team. In the 2009 film, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," Rip Cord is played by comedian/actor Marlon Wayans.

Dr. Mindbender is actually an orthodontist who was driven mad by a machine he created to relive dental pain. He now works for Cobra and specializes in interrogation, mind control, genetics and cloning.

In 1982, Short-Fuze debuted with the other members of the original G.I. Joe Team as the mortar soldier. Short-Fuze, whose real name is Eric W. Friestadt, is son and grandson to top sergeants in the army.
