About This Quiz

Emo is a sub-genre of rock music which emerged in the mid-1980s as a result of the post-hardcore punk movement and was mainly characterized by the emotional expression through its lyrics. At the time of its inception, it wasn't readily accepted by the public, and it wasn't until the early 2000s that it received the airplay that it deserved.

Some of the most successful musicians in the genre included Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, Green Day, Blink-182, Linkin Park, and All-American Rejects.

Growing up, many of us had an emo playlist that we listened to not only when we needed something to relate to, but also when we needed a positive outlet to get things off of our chests.

A fashion trend was later associated with the genre and usually consisted of the color black, studded belts, skinny jeans and tight shirts as well as a lot of eyeliner.

If you've ever thought about what your true age is or at least should be, then you can take this quiz to find out. All you have to do is create a playlist, one filled with emo songs that remind of the good old days and we'll guess how old you are!
