Fifth grade can be a fun time. It's the first year of middle school and a transition from general social studies into actual history. There's no more coloring books or identifying what city you live in. It's time to learn about the creation of your state, country and the world as a whole. You might have heard about the Revolutionary War or the American Civil War, but now it's time to know the battles, causes, outcomes and major figures. Fifth grade is when we learn the ideals of those major figures and how they helped lay the foundation for our country. It's when we learn about America's role in the global realm and society's role in shaping the American government.
What do you remember? You probably remember Manifest Destiny, but do you remember the leaders of Westward Expansion? What about the Louisiana Purchase? Can you remember when the Boston Tea Party happened or what the Third Amendment of the U.S. Constitution says? Put your skills to the test and see whether you can still pass fifth-grade history. You don't need to know what planet we live on or how the dinosaurs died, but you will need to know what we've done on the planet since the dinosaurs died. Let's see if you know more history than a fifth grader with this quiz!
How much do you know about dinosaurs? What is an octane rating? And how do you use a proper noun? Lucky for you, HowStuffWorks Play is here to help.
