Red Dead Redemption is a Western-type of action-adventure video game, whose main character is John Marston. He was an outlaw gang member and gunslinger, who committed robberies, raids, murders, kidnappings, and other crimes across the frontier.

The God of War game series, whose main protagonist and anti-hero is Kratos, is based on Greek mythology. In the game, each adventure forms part of a narrative with vengeance as a central theme.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze was a nobleman who hailed from Florence during the Renaissance era; he led an affluent, carefree lifestyle until a tragic turn of events changed his life. He witnessed the execution of his father and two brothers. Ezio Auditore da Firenze then went out seeking revenge.

Steve is differentiated from Alex, another default player skin in the Minecraft video game, by his dark hair and skin, his nose and mouth, and his blue eyes. Steve has a variety of personalities. He could go from being a nice calm gentleman to a heartless, cruel mass homicidal maniac.

The Tracer, a peppy and energetic character of British origin, appeared in the 2016 video game, Overwatch. She can "blink" through space and rewind her personal timeline as she battles to right the wrongs in the world.

Known for his chant "GET OVER HERE!" Scorpion made his debut as one of the original seven playable characters in the Mortal Kombat arcade game franchise in 1992. He is a resurrected ninja specter seeking revenge for his death at the hands of Sub-Zero.

The main protagonist in Final Fantasy VII, Cloud Strife first appeared as an arrogant and proud swordsman who introduced himself as a former member of an elite warrior-turned-mercenary of a unit called SOLDIER. Illidan Stormrage is a fictional night elf and sorcerer character that appears in the Warcraft series of video games. He was nicknamed "the Betrayer" as he pursued power and committed several horrific acts against his own people.

Little Big Planet is a bit unusual because it is a puzzle video game series, with a high emphasis on gameplay rather than being story-driven. It follows the adventures of Sackboy who is the game's default protagonist.

Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin created a franchise of a platform video game series called Crash Bandicoot. The series comprises of 18 games. More than 50 million copies were sold.

In 2000, Tiger Electronics released an LCD game called Sonic Underground. It was based on the television show of the same name. Succeeded only by Wii Sports, Super Mario Bros. is the second best selling video game, making its way into over 40 million homes. In this game, the playable character and protagonist, Mario, travels through the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Princess Toadstool from the enemy, Bowser.

The protagonist and flagship character, Duke Nukem of the Duke Nukem series of video games, is a legendary American hero. He defended Earth several times from evildoers and emerged triumphant over every threat.

Tommy Vercetti is an Italian-American who is portrayed with a tall, swarthy, handsome appearance. He is the hero and playable character in the 2002 edition of Grand Theft Auto; Vice City. After he was released from prison, he took part in a deal for an old friend and was ambushed. After he found and murdered the man who set up the ambush, he became extremely powerful in the underworld.

In 2006, Marcus Fenix debuted as the protagonist of the Gears of War video game. He is a fictional character who was convicted of a crime but was later reinstated into the Coalition of Ordered Governments military to assist with a specialized mission.

Pikachu is renowned for being the most popular and recognizable Pokémon. Pikachu is the mascot of the Pokémon franchise, and it is the only starter Pokémon in Pokémon Rumble Blast and Pokémon Rumble World video games.

Created by Erik Wolpaw and Kim Swift, GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) is an artificially intelligent computer system out of the video game series entitled Portal. Within the game, GLaDOS is responsible for testing and maintenance in the Aperture Science research facility.

"You will learn respect!" says the Princess from the Mortal Kombat video game. Kitana was also known as Princess Kitana. In 1993, Lady Kitana was introduced as a character in the second installment of the game, Mortal Kombat II.

Castlevania is a series of horror-themed action-adventure video games, centered on the Belmont family, a clan of hunters who set out to hunt vampires. They are renowned for their fight with the infamous Gabriel Belmont, popularly know as Dracula.

Metroid is a science fiction and action-adventure game series. The protagonist, Samus Aran, is an ex-soldier of the Galactic Federation. She became a galactic bounty hunter, usually fitted with a powered exoskeleton that is equipped with weapons, such as directed-energy weapons and missiles.

Michael T. Weiss voiced the character, Nameless One, in the video game, Planescape: Torment. The Nameless One suffered severe memory loss, but it was evident that at some point he committed a horrible crime. The exact nature of this crime was never presented, but clearly, it was severe enough to damn his soul.

Spyro is the main protagonist and title character of The Legend of Spyro video game series. He is a purple dragon that is destined to bring peace to his home. The story revolves around his efforts to stop Malefor the enemy from destroying the world.

Yoshi's Island is an old school, 1995 video game that was developed by Nintendo for its Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Baby Mario brother, Luigi, was kidnapped by Baby Bowser's minions. But Yoshi helped Mario rescue him and reunited them.

Geralt of Rivia, also called the White Wolf, is the lead game character in the Witcher III. At a young age, he was given to the witchers to be trained in their ways and mutated. As he grew, he became known as one of the fiercest and most skilled in the land.

The video game, Max Payne 3, developed by Rockstar Studios, is a third-person shooter game. The main character, Max Payne, is a former detective who became a vigilante after the murder of his wife and daughter.

Bayonetta is the protagonist who carried the same name as the video game. Hideki Kamiya created Bayonetta. She was designed by Mari Shimazaki. Bayonetta is a Witch who is on the hunt for answers about her forgotten memories. The first place she goes to is Vigrid and fights the angelic forces of Paradiso on the way.

Dante is the main protagonist of the dark video game series, Devil May Cry. His father was Sparda, a demon of great power. Thus he possesses numerous powers as well. Dante uses his power in combination with a variety of weapons to accomplish his goal of exterminating evil demons and other wicked supernatural forces.

Claire Redfield is one of the favorite female characters in the Resident Evil video game series. She is the younger sister of Chris Redfield, an American special police officer who is a protagonist of the first game.

Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse is the third installment in the Castlevania game franchise, produced for Nintendo Systems. It tells the tale of Simon Belmont's ancestor, Trevor, who seeks to destroy Dracula with the help of one of three possible companions.

Jade is one of the characters and the main hero in the action-adventure video game called Beyond Good & Evil. She was an orphan through her entire childhood but was later adopted by her uncle, Pey'j. The only link she had to her origin was a camera, given to her by her parents.

In Warcraft 3, Jaina Proudmoore is the strongest human sorceress and the leader of the Kirin Tor. She swore to conquer the Burning Legion and its shady agents any way she could, and helped defeat and banish the demons.

Ganondorf, popularly known as the King of Thieves, the Great King of Evil, or the Dark Lord, is the main villain in the Legend of Zelda video games. He has magic powers and often asks the all-powerful Triforce to grant him his wish of conquering the world.
