In 1993, Mrs. Doubtfire was released and comedic gold was brought to the cinema. Based on the Anne Fine novel, Alias Madame Doubtfire, the film followed a "mysterious" housekeeper that was hired by a newly divorced mother of three.Â

Robin Williams was born on July 21, 1951, and committed suicide on August 11, 2014. He rose to fame in 1978 with his role as Mork in Mork & Mindy.
Robin Williams won the 1997 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting. He also received numorous Emmy Awards, Golden Globes, Grammys and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Daniel is a freelance voice actor. He is able to use his acting skills to turn into Mrs. Doubtfire.

Miranda Hillard is unhappy in her marriage with Daniel. She does not believe he is responsible enough, especially when it comes to their children.
Sally Field was born on November 6, 1946. She began her acting career in television, starring in the sitcom Gidget from 1965-1966 and then on The Flying Nun from 1967-1970.
They have three children together: 2 girls and 1 boy. Mrs. Doubtfire won the 51st Golden Globe Award for Best Picture!

The film is set in San Francisco and was mainly filmed in San Francisco as well. The studio wanted to film in Chicago, however, the city was too busy with the production of two new TV series: ER and Chicago Hope.
Lydia was also called "Lydie" in the movie as a name of endearment. She was portrayed by Lisa Jakub, who also played the role of Alicia Casse in Independence Day. She retired from acting in 2001, at the age of 22.

Natalie Hillard was portrayed by Mara Wilson. Mara was born on July 24, 1987. She played the roles of Matilda in Matilda, as well as Susan Walker in the 1994 remake of Miracle on 34th Street.
Daniel threw a rowdy party for their son Chris. Miranda was upset because Chris had bad grades on his report card and didn't deserve the party. While this seems a petty reason for divorce, it signifies their marital troubles.
Stuart Dunmire is his full name. He goes by Stu and Miranda's children are not too fond of him - they miss their dad.

The answer is British, although it is argued by many that she speaks with a Scottish accent. This may have been an intentional choice of the director, to make the accent ambiguous, because Mrs. Doubtfire was an acting character anyway!
Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire impresses Miranda in a phone interview. Miranda then invites her to the house for a formal interview and hires her.

Daniel's brother Frank is a makeup artist. He and his partner, Jack, help to transform Daniel into Mrs. Doubtfire.
Though Miranda is immediately impressed by Mrs. Doubtfire, it takes some time before the children warm up to "her." Mrs. Doubtfire actually helps Miranda improve her relationship with them.
Chris catches Mrs. Doubtfire using the restroom - standing up in front of the toilet. He is shocked and runs off to Lydia's room.

He had read Charlotte's Web to her every night before he had to move out. Charlotte's Web is a children's novel, written by E.B. White.
Daniel got to spend some time with the kids in his modest apartment. He was so happy to see them but their time was cut short when Miranda came storming in to pick up the kids.
Daniel laughs and says, "Kids say the darnedest things." Miranda is less than thrilled and yells at him for teaching their child such choice words.

Nattie is the youngest child, at five years old. She has a lisp and is adored by the viewers of Mrs. Doubtfire.
Mrs. Sellner was portrayed by actress Anne Haney. Haney passed away in 2001, at the age of 67.
Mrs. Sellner catches Daniel off guard and he must switch now from Mrs. Doubtfire to Daniel without Mrs. Sellner catching him in the act!

Mrs. Doubtfire throws a lime at Stu's head because "she" heard him call Daniel a loser. Stu looks back angrily and Mrs. Doubtfire claims she saw an angry kitchen staff member do it.
"I like that Mediterranean look in women. Natural, healthy. Just the way God made you," says the bus driver to Mrs. Doubtfire. "Well, he broke the mold when He made me. He made me very special," she replies.

Mrs. Doubtfire was released on November 24, 1993. It was rated PG-13 and its running time was 2 hours and 5 minutes.
Daniel sneaks to the kitchen to season Stu's food with cayenne pepper, which he is allergic to. Stu starts to choke on the food because of the pepper.
Daniel, dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire, hears Stu choking and feels bad for giving him the cayenne pepper, so he runs to his rescue.

"One lump or two, dear?" - Daniel is in the kitchen undressing as Mrs. Doubtfire while trying to prepare a cup of tea for Mrs. Sellner, who is anxiously waiting outside of the kitchen for her tea and meeting with Daniel.
Stu arranges a birthday dinner for Miranda and invites Mrs. Doubtfire. Mr. Lundy invites Daniel to dinner, on the same night, at the same restaurant! Daniel switches back and forth and eventually reveals himself as Daniel to all.
Mr. Lundy recognizes Daniel's talents and invites him to dinner to provide him with an opportunity to pitch ideas as a new host on his TV station.

Miranda and Daniel mend their relationship and Miranda appeals the custody ruling - which then allows Daniel to see the kids any time he wants.
At the end of the movie, Daniel has his own new television show where he is dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire. It becomes a hit across several American cities.
