Taking a quick stroll outside may exacerbate your allergies. While these can be relatively minor, many experience conditions like anemia and hypertension. For every medical condition you could think of, there's a medication to help control it. Can you match the medication to the proper condition?

When dealing with medical conditions, it seems as if some of them pop out of nowhere, but there's a method to the madness that our bodies sometimes cause. There's a class of medical conditions that are genetic, meaning that the defect was passed down through the genes of the parents. Examples of this would be Down syndrome or sickle cell anemia. You'd even find medical conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's disease that are extremely difficult to predict and treat. While these are two classes of conditions that are nearly impossible to predict, there's another group of conditions that you are able to prevent.

Our lifestyle can cause drastic changes in our older selves, and this is seen in conditions like high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes and hypertension (high blood pressure). With all of the conditions plaguing the population, you can bet there's a specific medication to help manage and control it. Can you match them? ADHD or (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is a condition where the person has difficulty controlling or calming their behavior. Adderall is the most commonly prescribed drug.



Constipation is when one experiences difficulty with bowel movements or has irregular bowel movements. While Dulcolax is a popular brand, the generic form of the drug is docusate systemic.


Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is a purely male condition where he has trouble maintaining an erection during sexual intercourse. Viagra is actually the second most prescribed medication for this condition, while Cialis is the first.


High cholesterol

High cholesterol is when there is a buildup of fats (or lipids) in your blood. While the generic name is atorvastatin, you'd probably most easily recognize the brand name, Lipitor.



Depression is a mood disorder that must occur for months at a time for it to be diagnosed as clinical. Zoloft might be more well-known, but it is the second most prescribed depression medication after Cymbalta.


Urinary tract infection

A UTI is an infection that can occur anywhere along your urinary tract which can range from your bladder to your kidneys. The most common drug prescribed for UTIs is ciprofloxacin, which you might refer to more commonly as Cipro.



Insomnia is a condition where you have difficulty sleeping. Ambien is a popular medication prescribed and is a branded name for the generic drug zolpidem systemic.


Type 2 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a condition where your body has issues responding to insulin. This is a common disease in people who are overweight. Metformin is the most common medication prescribed to Type 2 diabetes patients.


Allergic rhinitis

Allergic rhinitis is just a more complicated way of saying airborne allergies. While Zyrtec is the most commonly prescribed drug, you're probably also familiar with Allegra and Claritin.



Diarrhea is classified as loose, watery bowel movements that occur frequently. Imodium is the most common medication prescribed and is also referred to by its generic name loperamide.



Anxiety is a mental condition that manifests in physical conditions like a fast heart rate, perspiration and irregular breathing rate. Xanax is the most popular anxiety medication.



Eczema is also commonly known as dermatitis and is a skin condition that manifests in dry, itchy skin. The most common prescription is triamcinolone, which goes by brand names of Kenalog or Aristocort.


Alzheimer's disease

Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disease that affects the memory and language. Aricept is the most common medication for patients.



Hypothyroidism is when your thyroid isn't active enough and doesn't produce enough of the thyroid hormone. This condition is treated with levothyroxine.



Heartburn has tons of different names ranging from acid reflux to GERD. It is when foods for the stomach, which are now acidic, travel up the esophagus. The most common medication is Prilosec followed by Nexium.



Menopause is a condition that happens to middle-aged women and they deal with symptoms such as hot flashes and insomnia. Estratest is the most common medication prescribed to help manage their symptoms.



Asthma is a respiratory condition where your air passages are inflamed. Singulair is the most common drug prescribed to help with the symptoms like wheezing and coughing.


Hypertension (high blood pressure)

High blood pressure is a combination of your systolic and diastolic blood pressure being over 140 and 90, respectively. Lisinopril is the most common blood pressure medication prescribed however losartan and amlodipine are other common ones.


Rheumatoid arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is a condition where there is inflammation around your joints. This is common in the hands and knees. Methotrexate is commonly prescribed to help with the pain and inflammation.



HIV is a viral infection cause by the HIV virus that attacks the immune system. Truvada is the most commonly prescribed drug.



Acne is a skin condition where the person experiences inflammation on the skin due to sebum filling the pores. Doxycycline is the generic name, but you might recognize brand names like Vibramycin.



Does pain really need a description? There are tons of different pain medications on the market. Ibuprofen is a common over-the-counter medication that you'd find under names like Advil or Motrin. You could even use acetaminophen which usually goes by the name Tylenol. Pain medications can also be dangerous and highly addictive like vicodin, oxycodone, and dilaudid.



Herpes is a viral infection that usually appears around the mouth or genitals. CBS News reported that 2/3 of the world's population is infected with type 1 of the herpes virus. Acyclovir is the most commonly prescribed drug for the virus.



Migraines are severe forms of headaches that can sometimes be accompanied by other symptoms like nausea and vomiting. Sumatriptan is the most commonly prescribed drug that you'd find under the brand Imitrex.



A stroke is caused when a blood clot forms in a vessel and stops the brain from receiving blood and oxygen. While Plavix it the brand name, this anticoagulant commonly goes by its generic name of clopidogrel.



Fibromyalgia is a condition that is characterized as muscle and joint pain. While it occurs in both males and females, it is more common in the latter.



Psoriasis is a skin condition that is characterized by dry, itchy and cracked skin. Clobetasol is most commonly prescribed drug, but you've probably seen commercials for Humira.



Gout is a form of arthritis and is characterized by inflammation in the joints. This usually happens in the lower extremities.



Angina is characterized by chest pain. The most common drug prescribed is aspirin.



Osteoporosis is a condition where you bones begin to thin. Alendronate is the generic name for the brand Fosamax.



Bronchitis is a condition where a person's bronchial tubes are inflamed. Mucinex is actually the second most prescribed medication for bronchitis, while azithromycin is the first.



Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder where the person can't differentiate between real and unreal experiences. Seroquel is the most commonly prescribed drug, with Abilify in second.



A cold is a viral infection with symptoms like congestion, chills and fatigue. Benadryl is the most commonly prescribed medication for the common cold.


Bipolar disorder

Bipolar disorder is a mental condition where the person experiences severe and abrupt mood swings. Lamictal is the most commonly prescribed drug to patients.



Alopecia is a skin condition where the person has issues with hair growth. Spirolactone is the most commonly prescribed drug for this.
