Children's books played an integral role in developing us into the people who we have become. Not only did they fuel our imagination, but they also presented us with characters of many different backgrounds, some of whom we looked up to and aspired to be like.
Some of the best children's classic books were written by authors with pen names such as C.S. Lewis who was responsible for "The Chronicles of Narnia" series and Dr. Seuss, who wrote more than 60 books including "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and "The Cat in the Hat." The authors who did use their real names were equally successful, some of them including Roald Dahl who created "Matilda" and "Fantastic Mr. Fox," Beatrix Potter, who wrote "The Tale of Peter Rabbit," and author of the best-selling Harry Potter book series, J.K. Rowling.
