When it comes to guns, American companies know their stuff. Iconic organizations like Smith & Wesson, Browning, Kel-Tec, Marlin and Weatherby all have made dependable models used for both sporting purpose and for warfare. But two companies – Winchester Repeating Arms Company and Remington Arms, are among the most iconic companies of all. In this quiz, if we name a fact or product, can you match it to the correct company?

Both companies were founded in the 19th century, and since then, they’ve manufactured millions and millions of guns, from sidearms, to shotguns, and of course, rifles big and small. But do you know which company has been around longer? It’s Remington, which has roots that go all the way back to 1816. Winchester, by contrast, was officially formed in 1866.

In their long histories, both companies have built some of the most famous guns ever. Some were used in the American Civil War and then helped conquer the Wild West. Others saw action in both World Wars, Vietnam, and beyond. Do you know the most famous guns ever to come from these factories?
