About This Quiz

The Victorian era was a time in history in the United Kingdom during, rightfully so, Queen Victoria's reign. The period lasted from 1837 until 1901, when Queen Victoria died. That era saw the rise of the middle class, religious reform and something called "philosophical radicalism." There was a big sense of responsibility among all the different religious groups and middle-class members to end injustices like slavery and preventing crime and reforming police. These are big efforts to be taken on, but the Victorian people wanted a democracy and wanted to distance the United Kingdom from its old ways of no elections.

Another thing about this era? The names were simply amazing. Some were names like Dorcas, which sounds more like a water mammal than a person. And some were extremely elegant, like Arabella, who was just waiting for her high-society birthday party. The range of names is interesting, but what's also interesting is how many of these names you don't hear anymore. Would you name your daughter Novella? It seems like the perfect name for a book lover. Or maybe name your son Crockett? Sounds like quite the outdoors-man. But what's your Victorian era name? Take this quiz and find out!
