Science fiction, simply known as Sci-Fi, is a genre of film and television which is based on concepts which have not been accepted or which have been deemed untrue by the scientific community. The world of science fiction can be compared to the size of our galaxy and it includes but is not limited to topics including extraterrestrial life, time travel, artificial intelligence and humans with special abilities or superpowers.
Throughout the last two decades, there has been a significant increase in the number of Sci-Fi films being created and while they are enjoyable, nothing beats a classic. From the 1950s classic "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" to 1980s movies like "Back to the Future," "The Terminator" and "Aliens" to newer movies like"Inception," "The Martian" and "Jurassic World," the possibilities are endless.
With the movies, come memorable characters both good and evil, some of whom will be remembered as the greatest characters not only of the genre, but in film. Not only are they known for kicking alien and monster butt, but also for outwitting seemingly more intelligent people and sometimes entire species.
