About This Quiz

Tina Fey's mega-hit "Mean Girls" hit the silver screen in 2004, and it was an instead smash hit, garnering millions of fans across the world. Its female-driven depiction of high school life spoke to a great many people who had been through the things that it described. Indeed, it was so successful that it eventually became a Broadway musical, composed by Fey's husband, Jeff Richards.

The movie was originally based on an insightful book from 2002, Rosalind Wiseman's "Queen Bees & Wannabes." This book delved into cliques and the life of teen girls from the point of view of a sociologist, with a target audience of parents seeking to help their daughters navigate school life. Tina Fey adapted the book loosely, since it wasn't a narrative, converting its archetypes and stereotypes into three-dimensional characters that simultaneously feel highly individual, while also being immediately recognizable to anyone who has ever been to high school.

Which of these sublimely specific yet thorough universal characters are you most like? Perhaps you're a queen bee like Regina George, who just needs to learn to use your popularity and power for good? Maybe you're a vulnerable soul with a hard shell, like Janis Ian, or a warm heart easily led astray, like Gretchen Wieners. Perhaps you're someone else entirely. It's time to find out!
