About This Quiz

Jesus was certainly a very special figure in human history, and being divine in his origin, doubtless he could have done what he needed to do all on his own. However, he knew that he wasn't going to be physically present on earth forever, and he wanted to have people out there to help spread the word after his departure. Plus, it's a lot easier to undertake the redemption of all of the humankind when you have your friends around you.

As a result, Jesus assembled his disciples - twelve who are especially noted in the Bible, plus a few such as Mary Magdalene who are considered to be disciples in today's thinking but didn't get so much credit back in the day. Each of the twelve brought to the table something different that inspired and supported Jesus' mission in different ways.

Even the treacherous Judas played an essential role in making sure that the Crucifixion could happen - and without that, there is no redemption and the story sort of fizzles out. Doubting Thomas showed the value of faith, while the ever-supportive fishermen showed the importance of true friendship. Paul demonstrated that you can always change your mind and be welcomed.
