The Beatles were a 1960s English rock band who were widely regarded as the most influential band in the history of music. The band was ridiculously successful and some of their best hits included; Hey Jude, Come Together, Here Comes the Sun, Blackbird and All You Need is Love. To date, the band has sold over 800 million records worldwide, won seven Grammy Awards and has had more number one singles (20 to be exact) and albums than any other singer or singers in the United Kingdom. 

The band was made up of four core member, others of which had already left the group before they became famous. These four were George Harrison who was the lead guitarist, Ringo Starr who was the drummer, Paul McCartney who was the bass guitarist and singer, and John Lennon, the lead singer and songwriter for the group.  Just three years into their success story, the term "Beatlemania" was coined to describe the phenomenon that the band had caused by their numerous fan base.
