Being a police officer is one of the hardest jobs there is. You have to be in good shape, both mentally and physically, you have to be prepared to spend hours doing nothing at all and then burst into action at a moment's notice. Not only that, but the hours are horrible, your life is often in danger and you are constantly put into really difficult situations with some pretty unsavory people.

The point is, being a police officer is hard. There are not a whole lot of people who can do the job at all, let alone well, you have to be a really special kind of person to be able to be a police officer. Do you have what it takes? If you don't, it doesn't make you a bad person, there are all sort of things that you have to be able to handle and do as a police officer that a lot of people wouldn't want to do in a million years, But if you do have what it takes to be an officer of the law, sworn to protect the lives, property and freedom of American citizens, then it is something to be proud of.
